The first topic in a daily prompt event by Haiku Heights.
Hopefully I keep up!

Update

Lately, I have not tried very hard to create meaningful poetry. I'm going to try to increase my efforts towards composing more zappai in the future. And hopefully, I can try to spread the awareness of the poetry form of zappai, and try to differentiate the concept of zappai from the more formal style of haiku, particularly in the western world.

Series of Zappai Poetry

Detached from Venus
Saturn reigns over dusk skies
from a passing rock

Maelstrom of malice
from a real lack of control
of carnal pleasures

Pacing back and forth
I rush through without a care
To an erupt end

Series of Zappai Poetry

A beacon of hope
Signals the coming rainfall
To wash away sin

Repulse from disgust,
I withdraw from the grotesque
to a pleasant scene

Hard working at night,
The hot wax begins to melt
as the point wears down
